Wednesday June 3, 2026 9:10am - 10:10am MDT
In this interactive session, we will explore how to make abstract mathematical concepts tangible for K-5 students using hands-on manipulatives. We will discuss strategies for using tools like base ten blocks, fraction tiles and patter blocks to transform students from passive learners into active investigators. The presentation will model how to facilitate studdent-led discovery and foster collaborative problem-solving to build a deeper, conceptual understanding of topics like place value, addition, and fractions.

Class of ’86: A Pedagogical Time-Warp to the Future of Learning
Wednesday June 3, 2026 10:20am - 11:20am MDT
Dust off your high-tops and grab your walkman—we’re going back to 1986 to discover the future of Tier 1 instruction! This high-energy session uses the iconic cinema of 40 years ago to decode the modern frameworks that drive student success today. We’ll look at how the "Class of ’86" can teach us to remove learning barriers through Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and boost engagement using the 5 C’s—Control, Collaboration, Challenge, Choice, and Caring. Whether you’re channeling the leadership of Maverick or the autonomy of Ferris Bueller, you’ll walk away with actionable strategies that align with CSD’s MTSS framework, ensuring every student in your "brat pack" has the support they need to thrive. Don't be "left behind" in the past; join us for a nostalgic deep dive that will leave you ready to "move the stars" for your students!.

Scrible
Wednesday June 3, 2026 1:45pm - 3:00pm MDT
This session will introduce teachers to the Scribble creative writing platform and demonstrate how it can be used in K–12 classrooms to increase student engagement and creativity in writing. Scribble allows students to create their own stories using guided prompts and interactive tools, helping them build vocabulary, strengthen grammar skills, and develop confidence as writers. As students write, their ideas can come to life through visuals and storytelling features, making the writing process more engaging and meaningful. We will also focus on the research aspect of the program and go over the components. Participants will learn practical ways to integrate Scribble into literacy lessons, small group activities, and whole-class instruction to support creative expression and language development across grade levels.
