Sharing Student Voice Classroom Podcasting

Podcasts are a very popular medium for sharing stories, information, news, and opinions, and
have increasingly become an important part of our classrooms. This presentation prepares
educators to integrate podcasts into their classrooms, both as a teaching medium and as a way
to create podcasts with their students. Participants will learn about the different types of podcasts
available to educators, learn basic audio recording and editing techniques, and learn how to
publish podcasts with their students.

Podcasting for the Classroom with WeVideo

Student podcasting is a great way to enhance learning by turning any traditional writing assignment into a highly-engaging media project where students create work that can be shared with an authentic audience. In this session, you’ll learn how to use WeVideo’s voice recorder, audio editing tools, and music and sound effects from the stock media library to enhance audio storytelling! We’ll also share curricular resources educators can use to implement podcasting projects that enable students to demonstrate core content knowledge, use academic vocabulary in an authentic context, and achieve common core literacy standards.


Outcomes:
  1. Understand the benefits of student podcasting projects
  2. Learn how to use audio editing tools to produce a podcast
  3. Learn how to design and implement student podcasting projects
