In Canyons School District, we believe that all stakeholders benefit from purposeful technology integration within the learning process, focusing on student achievement. Educational technology will be used to empower teachers, students, and other stakeholders to gain the knowledge and skills needed to adapt, create, consume, and connect responsibly and ethically with the broader world in preparation for meaningful life opportunities.

Student podcasting is a great way to enhance learning by turning any traditional writing assignment into a highly-engaging media project where students create work that can be shared with an authentic audience. In this session, you’ll learn how to use WeVideo’s voice recorder, audio editing tools, and music and sound effects from the stock media library to enhance audio storytelling! We’ll also share curricular resources educators can use to implement podcasting projects that enable students to demonstrate core content knowledge, use academic vocabulary in an authentic context, and achieve common core literacy standards.

Outcomes:
  1. Understand the benefits of student podcasting projects
  2. Learn how to use audio editing tools to produce a podcast
  3. Learn how to design and implement student podcasting projects
